Paulina Lavista, fotógrafa mexicana nacida en 1945, destacada por su polémica obra que ha puesto a prueba los límites del campo.
Es hija de un compositor y una pintora, comenzó una carrera en el modelaje y el cine antes de pasar al trabajo fotográfico en la década de 1960. Comenzó con el retrato, con uno de sus primeros clientes que fue socio durante largo tiempo, Salvador Elizondo, y luego irrumpió en la obra más artística, con una serie de desnudos para la revista Su Otro Yo. Ha fotografiado a muchos de la escena artística mexicana, así como imágenes de personas en actividades cotidianas, sobre todo en México. Es miembro del Salón de la Plástica Mexicana.

Igor Laptev, fotógrafo de paisajes y viajes canadiense reconocido internacionalmente, nacido en 1952, con sede en Toronto.
En los últimos veinte años, Igor ha creado una enorme cantidad de obras, muchas de las cuales se pueden encontrar en colecciones privadas de todo el mundo y sus trabajos han aparecido en numerosas publicaciones de arte. Igor ha viajado por todo el mundo. Sus últimos viajes fotográficos han sido a la India, Hawai, República Checa, Suiza, Alemania, Palestina Ocupada, México y Costa Rica.

Ikkō Narahara (奈良原一高), fotógrafo japonés nacido en Fukuoka en 1931.
Estudió derecho en la Universidad de Chuo (graduándose en 1954) y, influenciado por las estatuas de Buda en Nara, historia del arte en la escuela de postgrado de la Universidad de Waseda, de la que recibió una maestría en 1959.
Tuvo su primera exposición individual, Ningen no tochi (Tierra humana), en la Galería de Matsushima (Ginza) en 1956. En ella Narahara mostró Kurokamimura, un pueblo en Sakurajima. La exposición le granjeó una fama instantánea. En su segunda exposición, "Dominios", en el Salon Fuji Photo, en 1958, presentó un monasterio trapense en Tobetsu (Hokkaidō), y una cárcel de mujeres en Wakayama.
Entre 1970 y 1974 estuvo en Nueva York. Durante este tiempo participó en las clases de la fotógrafa estadounidense Diane Arbus. Durante las mismas grabó los discursos de Arbus; estas grabaciones se convertirían en un interesante documento de las declaraciones de la artista sobre su propio trabajo, poco antes de que se suicidara. Carl Newland Werntz, pintor, fotógrafo artístico, ilustrador, dibujante y educador estadounidense nacido en 1874, que fundó la Academia de Bellas Artes de Chicago. Werntz fue un viajero del mundo, defensor del arte asiático y el japonismo. A través de sus propios dibujos y expediciones fotográficas por el suroeste de Estados Unidos, su influencia jugó un papel importante en el desarrollo de la pintura en la región durante el siglo XX.
Era un fotógrafo pictorialista. Se aventuró en el suroeste de los Estados Unidos para registrar la vida de los nativos estadounidenses en Arizona y Nuevo México. Joey Lawrence, más conocido por su nombre artístico, "Joey L", fotógrafo profesional nacido en 1989, que actualmente reside en Brooklyn, Nueva York.
Comenzó a entrar en concursos de fotografía en DPChallenge en 2004, con una cámara digital de apuntar y disparar. No pasó mucho tiempo antes de que sus fotografías llegaran a ganar y poco después se producía DVDs educativos para aspirantes a fotógrafos. A continuación comenzó a tomar fotografías de bandas.
A partir de ese momento su carrera profesional se desarrolló rápidamente. Algunos de sus clientes incluyen Warner Bros. Records, Summit Entertainment, Forbes, NBC, Kawasaki, United Way, Ejército de Salvación, y Atlantic Records.

Massimiliano Sticca, fotógrafo italiano nacido en Turín en 1981.
Es un fotógrafo experto en reportajes y fotografía de la naturaleza, con sede en Milán y Turín. Actualmente colabora con las agencias de fotos Milestone Media (TI) y ZumaPress (USA). Se acerca a la fotografía en 1995, durante un viaje en Kenia, donde comienza a tomar fotos con la cámara de su padre, un F401. Después de esta experiencia comienza su pasión por la fotografía, así que después de la secundaria decide convertir su hobby en un trabajo adecuado, introduciendose en un mundo totalmente nuevo y de muy difícil acceso, manteniendo tanto su pasión por la fotografía y sus habilidades como consultor informático en sistemas de código abierto C.m.s. Sifaka de Verreaux / Verreaux's sifaka or White sifaka (Propithecus verreauxi)
Es un primate de tamaño medio de la familia de Indriidae. Like all sifakas, it has a long tail that it uses as a balance when leaping from tree to tree.

Philippe Grollier, fotógrafo francés nacido en 1975 en Nantes.
Después de tres años en el periódico Ocean Press en Nantes, Philippe fue a la escuela de fotografía (ETPA) en Toulouse. Recibió el segundo premio del jurado del tercer año en 1999. Nació en Lancashire, en el norte de Inglaterra, en 1968, y creció en Royston, un pequeño pueblo minero en el sur de Yorkshire.
Estudió bellas artes, especializándose en pintura y escultura, y tiene una licenciatura en Bellas Artes (con honores) de la Universidad de Trent en Nottingham.

On November 1 is the birthday of
Paulina Lavista, Mexican photographer born in 1945, noted for her controversial work which has tested the limits of the field. She is the daughter of a composer and a painter, beginning a career in modeling and cinema before moving into photographic work in the 1960s. She began with portrait work, with one of her first clients being longtime partner Salvador Elizondo, and later breaking into more artistic work with a series of nudes for the magazine Su Otro Yo. She has photographed many of the Mexican art scene as well as images of people in every day activity, mostly in Mexico. She is a member of the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana.
On November 2 is the birthday of
Igor Laptev, internationally renowned Canadian landscape and travel photographer born in 1952, based in Toronto.
Over the past twenty years Igor has created a tremendous amount of works, many of which can be found in private collections all over the world and published in numerous art publications. Igor's travel assignments took him around the globe. Just the recent photography trips include India, Hawaii, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Germany, Occupied Palestine, Mexico and Costa Rica.
Over the past few years Igor has conducted a number of travel and landscape photography workshops and masterclasses and recently, together with his friend and colleague Andrew Maidanik, Igor has launched a photography school where he is actively involved in writing a curriculum and co-organizing the workshops and masterclasses.
On November 3 is the birthday of
Ikkō Narahara (奈良原 一高), Japanese photographer born in Fukuoka in 1931.
He studied law at Chuo University (graduating in 1954) and, influenced by statues of Buddha at Nara, art history at the graduate school of Waseda University, from which he received an MA in 1959.
He had his first solo exhibition, Ningen no tochi (Human land), at the Matsushima Gallery (Ginza) in 1956. In this Narahara showed Kurokamimura, a village on Sakurajima. The exhibition brought instant renown. In his second exhibition, "Domains", at the Fuji Photo Salon in 1958, he showed a Trappist monastery in Tobetsu (Hokkaidō), and a women's prison in Wakayama.
From 1970 to 74 he was in New York. During this time he took part in a class by the American photographer Diane Arbus. He recorded Arbus' speech during these classes. These recordings would become an interesting document of the artist's statements about her own work shortly before she committed suicide. Narahara's work often depicts isolated communities and extreme conditions. He makes much use of wide-angle lenses, even hemispherical-coverage ("circular") fisheye lenses.
In 1967 Narahara won the Photographer of the Year Award from the Japan Photo Critics Association. He has won numerous other prizes. From 1999 to 2005, Narahara was a professor at the Graduate School of Kyushu Sangyo University (Fukuoka).
On November 4 is the birthday of
Carl Newland Werntz, American painter, fine arts photographer, illustrator, cartoonist and educator born in 1874, who founded the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. Werntz was a world traveler who was a proponent of Asian art and Japonisme. Through his own sketching and photographic expeditions to the American Southwest and his influence, he played an important role in the development of painting in the Southwest region in the early 20th century.
He was a 'Camera Pictorialist' photographer He ventured to the Southwestern United States to record Native American life in Arizona and New Mexico. He visited the Pueblos, and the historic Hubbell Trading Post in Arizona in the early 1900s. The Hubbell Trading Post is now a National Historic Site. Werntz was photographed by the famous Parisian photographer Man Ray and copies of these images are in the collection of the Archives of American Art.
He died in 1944.

He started entering photography competitions in DPChallenge in 2004 using a point-and-shoot digital camera. It was not long before his photographs were winning and shortly thereafter he was producing educational DVDs for aspiring photographers. He then began taking photographs of bands.
From that point on his professional career developed quickly. Some of his clients include Warner Bros. Records, Summit Entertainment, Forbes, NBC, Kawasaki, the United Way, Salvation Army, and Atlantic Records.
When he was 18, Lawrence was hired to create the poster for the movie adaptation of the first Twilight book. In 2008, the poster Lawrence created for the first Twilight movie was released.
In the making of a gallery exhibition, Lawrence traveled to Ethiopia three times over the course of three years to photograph the Karo, Mursi, Hamer, Daasanach and Arbore tribes of the Omo Valley. On his second trip, Lawrence took the photographs back to Ethiopia and showed them to the tribes people in order to gain trust amongst the clan chiefs and continue the photographic series.

Massimiliano Sticca, Italian photographer born in Turin in 1981.
He’s a photographer mainly skilled in Reportage and Nature Photography, based in Milan and Turin. At the moment he collaborates with the photo agencies Milestone Media (IT) and ZumaPress (USA). He approaches to photography in 1995 during a journey in Kenya, where he starts taking pictures with his father’s camera, a F401. After that experience his passion for photography begins; thus after high school he decides to turns his hobby into a proper job, entering a whole brand new world pretty hard to penetrate, keeping both his passion for photography and his skills as informatic consultant on C.m.s. opensource systems. Since 1995, thanks to his parent’s passion, he travels across several countries, such as South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Malaysia, Thailand and U.S.A., developing a certain tendency towards Nature Photography and Reportage.
In 2013, together with two businessman, Marco D’Oria and Francesco Tesi, they establish a new photo agency, Shooting Lab.

Philippe Grollier, French photographer born in 1975 in Nantes.
After three years in the newspaper Ocean Press in Nantes, Philippe goes to photography school in Toulouse (ETPA), he will get the second prize of the jury of the third year in 1999. In 2005, he began a work in progress on the development of peace accords in Northern Ireland. Today, he works regularly with the press and various agencies.
Philippe is a founding member of the group Time Machine.
